Which spelling to use
住まい住まい is the most common written form and the recommended choice for beginners. It combines kanji and kana.
住い住い is a less common variant of 住まい, written with kanji and kana; choose 住まい when writing.
住居住居 is the least common listed form and uses kanji only; its kanji represent the word phonetically, so beginners should choose 住まい instead.
